Don't you just love French braids? My granddaughter Ellen wanted a special hairdo for Halloween, so her Aunt Allison (my youngest daughter) French braided it for her. My daughters learned French braiding from their grandma, and Allison is the best at it. It just has such an "old world" charm, don't you think?
I adore French Braids!
ReplyDeleteAimee wore them a lot of the time until she was out of college. She loved them to keep her hair "up" for class. In CA her hair was really curly and they were a saving grace. She wore them to formal events, sometimes with pearls sewn in, too.
I used to do a crown and she had to have her head upside down; I was always afraid she'd faint, grin. We can't wait until her girls finally get enough hair to play with!
I'm glad your "girls" are enjoying the tradition, too! Fun, fun, fun!
My teenagers love them, as does Anabella. Rylee needs a little more hair and then she'll be wearing them too I'm sure. Her hair is naturally curly so she may need them! lol
ReplyDeleteHaving three boys, never got a chance to French braid, but it sure is beautiful, and like you said, something "old world" about it. Even more fun when it's your Aunt doing it too!
