4th of July and Frivolous Friday

I found a bit of time to sew something beside little kidlet clothes this week! I have the applique and ditch work done and am ready to do the finishing work.  I brought it outside to see it in the sunshine to help decide where to “go” next.  (The grass was bumpy, but you get the idea.) Take a peek!

Need a grin?  This picture is of my parents and Mom’s sister from Cody with my grandchildren.  The first shot went pretty well, and then the squirm started!

Here is a great picture of Cathy and Addy at the girl’s birthday party.  It was so nice to have her there!  Tomorrow is Bridger’s first birthday.

Hope to see you all soon!  Robbie

Amish Miniature Quilt

Finished the top today for my little quilt for the Guild auction.  It looks lighter in the picture, it's actually a dark pink.  Happy Easter everyone!

So fun giving quilts as gifts!

Just thought I would share this picture of my Grandson Jared, and the quilt I made him.  A fun time was had by all.  In the background is my middle son Justin, and his wife Stephanie.

Ou la la...

All of the sudden, an idea came over me tonite to make a slipcover for my bench. Well, I went to my stash, and had a big piece of muslin. Why not, I thought. It was nice and soft already, thin, so it tucked well, and easy to make a ruffle out of. Voila...

Sewing Armoire Makeover

So, aren't I being good on New Year's Day?  Couldn't take the mess in my sewing/craft armoire anymore. Reorganized and jazzed it up for 2012!

Confederate Generals Quilt

And with 4 days to spare!  This is for my son Justin ~ a history teacher.  It's the Second in a series of Civil War quilts.  The first one was called Union Generals, and the next one is called The General's Wives!  Going to find lots of rose colored Civil War Fabric for that one.

I'm No Betty Crocker! - Frivolous Friday

But I bought this cool mixer at the Brass Armadillo today. When I was little, my Aunt Arlene always used to make 7 minute frosting. Love, love that, and I'm going to whip up a batch with my new mixer. The chrome is so cool, and it has a timer on it too! Paid $20, and think I got a steal.

So, I made a ruffled lamp shade with a vintage piece of ruffle.  Put it on this glass lamp and voila!  Girly lamp...  ~ Cathy

Frivolous Friday - My Antique Booth

Here is a picture of my little vintage antique booth. Notice the White Rotary sewing machine on top. Weighs a ton. It would make a great doorstop!

Meet Cathy!

My name is Cathy, and I like all things sewing! I am also interested in art dolls, and antiques. In fact, my new summer endeavor was renting a space in an antique mall in Wheat Ridge, Paul Allen Antiques. It's been fun being a quilter and a "picker". Guess vintage suits me...

Meet the Girls!

We are members of the Columbine Quilt Guild in Colorado.

Our bee just celebrated our first anniversary. We meet at least one time a month and usually meet at someone's house. The best part of our getting together is our show-n-tell. We've learned so much from one another and are always encouraged to try something new.

Here we are at Sally's house. Meet Cathy, Sandy, Judy, and Linda! You have a lovely home, Sally, thanks for hosting us!

Our specialty is our salads! The hostess supplies the greens and the rest of us bring goodies to add.
