HEAT AND BOND

I started using something new, well to me anyway.   Have you used it before?  It's Feather Lite Heat and Bond.  The lightest weight fusible stuff and leaves appliques very soft and flexible.  I'm sold on this stuff!  I highly recommend it.  JoAnns doesn't carry it however, but Hancocks does.

Quilted Teacups

My latest obsession is making quilted teacups.  I made my own pattern, even tho they are out there to purchase.  I still need to improve on a couple of things, and I have ideas for others too. Enjoy looking!

2 NEWLY FINISHED

Just finished another quilt and realized I hadn't posted a picture of my last one I finished. I love the floral on the lavender one. It was one of those fabrics that you just hate to cut! lol I tried not to think about it, just get it done. LOL I couldn't find a flower like I wanted for the quilting so I drew my own. I hope you can see it in the picture.

The other is my red/white quilt. I love the color combination so of course I had to make a quilt like that! I had a terrible time with the quilting because my Carpal Tunnel was acting up but I got it finished in spite of it. It truly was a labor of love. *smile* Enjoy!

HAPPY EASTER

OLD IS NEW AGAIN!

I had some rooster place mats that were rectangular and just didn't work with my round table so I took them apart, added some different fabrics, and then cut them to fit my table. So my "old" is "new" again.

They originally were all black polka dots with a large yellow sun rising on the right . The fabric that looks like feathers was on the back of the old ones. It was a fun project to "recycle" perfectly good place mats.

I GUESS I HAVE BEEN BUSIER THAN I THOUGHT!

I just finished the second of these two quilts and wanted to show them. One is the

Apple core pattern. I have never been able to do this pattern for "whatever" reason and I just put my mind to it and did it. Quite the challenge with all the curves but fun nonetheless!

The second is a "stash buster" done in all batiks. I just couldn't bear to get rid of the last little bits of these fabrics so I used them all in a strippy quilt. Great fun but when it came to the quilting... that's a whole different story. I love feathers but I really need "feather Intervention"!!!!

Anybody with some good tips on how to make them? lol Practice, practice, practice!

Slow Start

Along with the start of the New Year, recovering from the holidays and having company for a while, I just haven't had the opportunity to sew like I would like too. I did quilt a top for a neighbor this week. It was 90x100, pretty big, and oh my! The lady that made it was not a quilter! There were HST's with the diagonals cut on the straight. That meant ALL the sides were on the bias. It has everything from 1/8" to 1/2" seams, and nothing had been pressed...just put together however she saw fit! Sometimes she missed the fabric completely, sometimes not. lol I had to remove the outside border and fix several places where it rippled. To say it was a challenge is an understatement! But it's done now and it did turn out ok for what I had to work with!

GRANDMA HAS COMPANY!

My son and his family came from Boston last week and will be staying till next Wednesday.

After being taken off the plane, being treated by an emergency medical team, and taken by ambulance to Children's hospital, little Rylee is doing so much better. She was having breathing problems and it got pretty scary before it was all over. They kept her at the hospital and finally released her late in the day.

So now it's just playtime for all of us, she is loving spending time with her other cousins and getting to know how much fun they are.

I CAN'T HELP IT!

Hi, my name is Judy and apparently I am addicted to sewing & quilting. The only difference with my addiction is, I don't WANT any help for recovery. I'm pretty happy in my little world of fabrics, rulers, and rotary cutters.

I had a UFO that just sort of jumped out at me the other day and begged to be finished. Being the nice, accommodating person that I am, I said "OK"! Here is the finished quilt.

NO TEARS

No tears this year, just hugs and smiles for the "BIG MAN IN RED". I think she's figured out that if you're crying, you can't say what you want to find under the tree. Rylee, Mom and Dad will be here the first week in January and I am really looking forward to hugging the daylights out of this little one!

LOOKS LIKE IT'S PARTY TIME!!!!!!!!!

Weds., December 14th, was our annual Sewing Bee Christmas Party. Everyone came with smiles and with their arms loaded with food and gifts to exchange. (that's always the best part) We ate, laughed, ate some more, laughed some more, and then ate still more yet! Needless to say we were all on a "sugar high" by the time the day was over. Here are a few pics of our fun day!

WE CAN BAKE TOO!

What does one do to entertain two 5yr. olds when they are sooooo excited for Christmas? Well, this Gramma decided it might be fun to bake something for the Holidays. One thing led to another, and then to another, and here is the finished product(s). They are soooo proud of their baking abilities! I think they look good enough to eat!

JUST FINISHED

I just finished ALL of my Christmas sewing. Now I can decorate the house and just sit back and enjoy the holidays this year. This is a little wall hanging I just finished. I told my husband that if we were snowmen this is what we'd look like. They were just so cute, they make me want to smile every time I look at them.

TA DAH!

I was surfing the net when I came across a lot of Christmas trees. One of them inspired me to make my own pattern. It was so much fun and quite easy to do. I don't know how many trees I think I need but here's another one for you to enjoy. :>)

TOO MUCH FUN!

Our guild had a scrappy challenge tonight. Lots of talented quilters and some really great quilts. To my surprise, I won 3rd place with my scrappy pinwheels. Yep, too much fun!

SANTA

I made a wall hanging of Santa too. He's about 3' tall, has lights draped over his shoulder and is holding an antique lantern. I was hoping the quilting would show up better. Maybe you'll just have to come see him!

TREES UP, LIGHTS ON

I just love this pattern. Kind of modern with an old fashioned feel. I used only my stash so the colors turned out a little brighter than I hoped, and instead of all cream colors, I mixed in whites also. All in all, it turned out pretty cute!

Frivolous Friday -- TO BE YOUNG AGAIN

It's Frivolous Friday and I was just looking at photos while having my morning coffee. So many memories of good times, happy occasions and celebrations. Just wanted to share some of them with you.

The first one is Anna. She takes cheerleading very seriously for a 5 yr. old, don't you think? The second one is Mitch. He loves anything that has to do with a ball, doesn't matter what kind, just any ball will do!

I have been in the mood to do a little Christmas sewing. This project isn't quite finished yet, it still needs some quilting and binding, but I thought he was pretty cute and I wanted to share him with you. Let's all get those machines hummmmming and get our holiday quilts underway. What do you say?
