What could possibly be better than a weekend at a guest ranch in the Colorado Rockies during peak aspen gold season? A weekend at a guest ranch in the Colorado Rockies during peak aspen gold season WITH QUILTING! I'm talking heaven here. Some dear retired-teacher friends of mine and I who get together a few times a year (the Wild Bailey Women) spent this past weekend at the beautiful North Fork Ranch west of Bailey, where we sewed, hiked, gabbed, and ate, ate, ate. Oh, that food! It's 5-star rated and almost upstaged the quilting!
Here's a photo of us notorious wild women with a quilt that Debbi (on left) finished binding during our stay.
I worked on some colorful, "wonky" blocks for a scrap quilt that I was inspired to try after reading "Collaborative Quilting" by Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston. I have included pics of a few of them. Think the quilt will be colorful enough? Hey, we're not called the Wild Bailey Women for nothing.
It looks so relaxing. Ahhhhhh!
